But, as great as these both are, there are plenty of other fabulous, natural ingredients that are equally beneficial in your diet AND your skincare regime.

Apricots are not only delicious but they’re jam-packed with essential fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins and fiber. All of which are awesome for your skin. Antioxidants, in particular, are up there as some of the best ways to fight free radical damage and reduce collagen destruction which prematurely ages up your skin.

A great source of potassium and packed with monounsaturated fats (they’re the good ones, btw!) avocados not only boost your body’s natural antioxidant defenses but also help keep your skin plump and healthy.

One of nature’s veritable superfoods, blueberries are chock full of fiber, nutrients and antioxidants called anthocyanins. Anthocyanins are what give blueberries their beautiful color, but they’re not just a pretty face. Studies show them to be excellent at protecting your skin against UV-induced photoaging and the inevitable lines, wrinkles and dark spots that come as part of that deal.

And ginger is no exception. The truth is, ginger is a total antioxidant powerhouse which makes it a great diet and skincare choice for preventing premature aging. It also helps tone and restores your skin to help boost your glow and ditch the dullness. Sure, ginger is ugly to look at, but proof if ever there was that beauty comes from within.
One of nature’s finest anti-inflammatories, green tea is equally as effective in your favorite skincare products as it is in your morning brew. How so? Well, it’s crammed with vitamins B2 and E which are fabulous for boosting collagen and hydrating your skin. It also contains a potent antioxidant (there we go again!) called EGCG which helps fight DNA damage. Finally, it has a high content of catechins which help reduce irritation, swelling and facial redness. It’s basically the gift that keeps on giving.
